DOCUMENT SHARING- WRITEBOARD

1. Introduction

Writeboard is one of the document sharing tool. It is web based text documents.

The features of writeboard are:-
1. Write without fear of losing or overwriting a good idea
2. Compare different versions of a document
3. Collaborate with colleagues on copy, proposals, memos, etc.
4. Subscribe to documents via RSS and be notified of changes
5. Keep your writings organized with Backpack integration
6. It is online

Writeboard is perfect for...

Advantage of using writeboard:-

Unlike a Word document that's stored at your office on one computer, you can get to your writeboards from any computer in the world with an internet connection and a modern web browser.
Want to collaborate on some copy? Want to pass a memo or letter by someone else for editing before you send it? Want to work with your business partners on some text for a proposal? Want fellow students to contribute to a group paper? Want to collaborate with a client on wording for their project?

How to use it?

Sharing writeboards is easy — simply enter someone's email address and they'll get an invitation with a link to view and edit the writeboard.
Writeboard makes editing easy and safe. Every time you save an edit a new version is created and linked in the sidebar. This allows you to write without fear of deleting something, overwriting something, or losing a better version of the document from last week.
Writeboard encourages you to explore ideas wherever they may lead. Don't like what you wrote? Just click a previous version and you're back to the way you had it before.
Ever want to know what changed between two versions of a writeboard? Simple. Just check off two versions and click the compare button. Everything that was deleted will be grey and struck, everything that's new will be highlighted green.
This is especially useful when you are collaborating with multiple people on a writeboard. Now you can see what others have changed or added to their versions of the writeboard.

Organized writeboards

If you have a Backpack account you can attach writeboards to backpack pages or see a list of all your writeboards in one place on the Writeboards tab from within Backpack. You can also create new writeboards in Backpack.
Using Backpack and Writeboard together is a great way to keep your writing organized (and not have to remember multiple usernames and passwords). Plus, if you have a Backpack account with SSL your writeboards will also be SSL-secure.

Zoho Writer is another document sharing tools. It is also web based text documents.

The features of Zoho Writer are:-
· Sharing & Collaboration Easily share your documents online, with friends on an individual basis and in group. Collaborate on them in real time.
· Offline Support Access and edit existing documents even without an internet connection. Offline document edits will be synchronized when you are online.
· Post to Blog A nice way of sharing documents with the whole world. Make use of Zoho Writer's feature rich WYSIWYG editor for publishing your documents to blog.
· Import / Export Documents Upload documents from your desktop, Google Docs or anywhere on the Web. Download and save them to your computer too.
· Page View Editing Experience the joy of writing documents in a real paper like environment. Edit them the way you wish to see in print.
